The Social Media Manager (SMM) is responsible for managing agency accounts from strategy to execution, but at the very core this is a creative writing role. This position is supported with a coordinator and works in alignment with a media relations team on integrated campaigns that support clients in achieving their goals through social media channels, blogs, social influencers, community engagement and activations, digital marketing tools and paid social media advertising campaigns. The SMM will be required to work on multiple accounts by maintaining creative strategy, content and engagement. This person is not just passionate about everything social media, but they are passionate about helping people to achieve their goals.   • Develop, present, and execute campaign strategy with creative content
  • Write and edit social media messaging and other forms of digital content
  • Schedule content and lead live content execution
  • Engage on client channels on a daily basis
  • Monitor client channels, trends and community engagement
  • Develop, execute and manage hard hitting social media advertising campaigns
  • Identify industry related topics, social influencers and digital trends
  • Analyze data and provide solutions and creative ideas to continuously raise social awareness

  • Update web content including publishing blogs and adding content to the Olive Creative Strategies website
  • Facilitate off-site client activities including photo/video shoots, events and meetings
  • Support with business development
  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
  • Minimum of two years agency experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading organic and paid social media campaigns
  • Minimum 3 years experience with utilizing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Clubhouse and other social media channels for business purposes
  • Successful portfolio of strategic social media campaigns
  • Expert knowledge of Facebook’s advertising platform is required

The social media and media relations intern is responsible for supporting our social media and media relations teams at the execution level. Through our for-credit internship program, our goal is to ensure that you gain hands-on experience while learning about our agency structure to set a strong foundation for your career. This position requires creative writing, attention to detail, and working in a fast-paced environment. The social media and media relations intern will be required to support on multiple accounts with daily engagement, drafting content and researching trends. On the media relations side they will be researching media trends and editorial opportunities, drafting press materials, brainstorming creative strategies, and contributing to different client campaigns and their individual needs.

  • Perform daily engagement on clients’ Instagram and Twitter accounts and track daily results
  • Draft creative pitches and press releases as well as content for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Develop and distribute calendar listings
  • Conduct weekly research on social media trends, platform updates, etc.
  • Research editorial opportunities and editorial calendars for all clients
  • Track and report media coverage to account leads
  • Clip and log secured media coverage
  • Conduct weekly research on social media trends, platform updates, etc.
  • Bookmark and edit user generated content
  • Research influencers for potential collaborations
  • Research trending hashtags our clients can utilize
  • Learn how to effectively evaluate social media performance through back-end analytics
  • Assist in team brainstorms and participate in team meetings
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
  • Eligible for receiving school credit
  • Portfolio of creative writing samples, preferably a blog or social media content calendar
  • Excellent writing, organization and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Attention to detail
